LED, Luminaire and Lamp LVD Tests

Nowadays LED lighting is becoming increasingly common. The main reason for this is that it is economical in energy use. Efforts to use energy more efficiently, legal regulations, published standards as well as the rapid development of LED technology are important factors in determining the future of the lighting industry. The number of companies producing LED lighting devices, luminaires and lamps in our country is gradually increasing. The competitiveness of these firms both in domestic and foreign markets and especially in European Union countries depends on their production quality. First of all, this can be achieved through production in accordance with legal regulations and domestic and foreign standards.

LED lighting devices, luminaires and lamps are covered by the Regulation on Electrical Equipment Designed for Specific Voltage Limits (2016 / 2014 / EU) issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in 35. This regulation is based on the Low Voltage Directive 2014 / 35 / EU, which is one of the New Approach Directives applied in the European Union countries. All kinds of LED lighting devices, luminaires and lamps produced in our country can enter the market of European Union countries, they are subject to LVD tests and CE marking on them.

In accordance with the Low Voltage Directive 2006 / 95 / EU, which replaces the 2014 / 35 / EC Low Voltage Directive,

  • Alternating current between 50 and 1000 Volts and
  • Direct current between 75 and 1500 Volts

All electrical equipment that uses it must have passed the safety tests required by the following standards:

  • TS EN 62031 Led modules - For general lighting - Safety features
  • TS EN 62560 Lamps - Self-balancing LED lamps - Used in general lighting with voltage greater than 50 Volts - Safety features
  • TS EN 62612 Self-balancing LED lamps for general lighting purposes with supply voltage above 50 Volts - Performance requirements
  • TS EN 62504 General lighting - Light emitting diode (LED) products and related equipment - Terms and recipes
  • TS EN 60598-1 Lighting fixtures - Part 1: General rules and tests
  • TS 8698 EN 60598-2-1 Lighting fixtures - Part 2-1: Special requirements - General purpose, fixed
