Construction Machinery LVD Tests

Low voltage tests (or LVD tests) made in accordance with the Regulation on Electrical Equipment (2014 / 35 / AB), designed for specific voltage limits, known as the Low Voltage Directive, may to determine the durability and quality of the insulation material. The voltage applied during these tests is approximately between 1000 Volts and 5000 Volts low voltage values.

All electrical and electronic devices, equipment and systems must have the CE mark on these products in order to have the right to free movement in the European Union countries. In order to put CE marking on their products, manufacturers must put the results of the low voltage tests in the technical file to be prepared. These tests are carried out with the aim of ensuring the safe use of these products, thus protecting the safety of people's lives and property.

Therefore, low voltage tests for construction machinery provide two-way benefit to manufacturers. Performing LVD tests on the one hand is important for the easy marketing of these products in all foreign countries, especially in European Union countries. On the other hand, it is important not to jeopardize the safety of life and property of people using these products.

No CE marking can be placed on the construction machinery without low voltage tests or LVD tests, nor can they be marketed without CE marking. In this respect, especially construction machinery is of critical importance. LVD testing is not only necessary for the protection of human health and the environment, but also for the avoidance of financial losses due to occupational accidents.

Low voltage tests for construction machinery are mainly for insulation tests. However, tests are also carried out to determine physical strength, high voltage, earth continuity, leakage current and combustion properties. These tests assure that the users of construction machinery will not be harmed or that possible damages are minimized.

It is also important that LVD tests are performed in accredited testing and inspection organizations. Otherwise, the test reports to be prepared will not be valid internationally.
