Elevator and Escalator LVD Tests

Firms producing elevators and escalators must meet many legal, standard and international requirements in order to meet the health and comfort of the people using them. In addition to quality and safety conditions, companies must also save energy and keep costs under control. However, these companies cannot always hire sufficient personnel in their staff to meet the safety and reliability requirements. Accredited testing and inspection organizations provide comprehensive testing, measurement, inspection and technical support services for all types of elevators and escalators, even escalators. These organizations take a holistic approach to companies and help them to comply with all relevant standards.

With these tests, companies have obtained market accessibility and product usability assurance. This is important because manufacturers have proven themselves in two ways. First, the elevator, escalator or escalator produced has been proven to comply with the relevant regulatory requirements and the relevant standard requirements in all production processes. In this way, CE marking can be placed on these products and free circulation is provided for these products both in European Union countries and in any country in the world. The second important point for manufacturers is that these products do not pose a danger to human life and property safety and environmental conditions.

Low voltage tests (LVD) tests are among the tests carried out within the scope of electrical safety tests of elevators, escalators and moving belts. These tests are carried out in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014 / 35 / EU published in European Union countries and the Regulation on Electrical Equipment Designed for Specific Voltage Limits (2014 / 35 / EU) published in our country based on this directive. Here are a few standards referenced during these tests:

  • TS EN 81-3 Elevators - Safety regulations for construction and installation - Special elevators for the transport of persons and goods - Part 3: Electrical and hydraulic service lifts
  • TS EN 81-20 ... Section 20: Person and goods lifts
