In all factories, construction sites, all enterprises, large and small, the elements that threaten employee health and work safety should be eliminated and necessary precautions must be taken in order to prevent unwanted incidents.

Generally, machines or equipment that lifts, relocates and unloads or stores any load from its location, and often performs the displacement of the load at short distances, is called lifting devices. In fact, lifting devices, which are dangerous because they lift a heavy load, must meet basic health and safety requirements. In the case of work-related accidents, accidents caused by hoists are due to manufacturing faults, installation faults, inadequate maintenance and control operations, and operational faults.

Since mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic simple lifts are highly functional, they are used in various sizes and properties in factories, enterprises, workshops and production facilities. These machines are needed in many areas such as construction, road construction, mining and shipyards.

One of the most important occupational accidents in lifting machines is: contact of lifting machines with power lines (45 percentage of accidents is due to this), stopping under the lifted load, overturning of the machine, falling of the load, lack of regular checks of the machine, overloading.

Some of the lifting machines operate with mechanical device and some with hydraulic device (by compressing liquid and oil). Some lifting machines also work with pneumatic devices. So with compressed air. However, no matter which method it works, all lifters are classified as lifting and forwarding machines in accordance with the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment published in 6331 in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 2013, and at least once a year, mechanical engineers, mechanical technicians or must be checked by technicians.
