Periodic Inspection and Inspection of Facade Lifts

Nowadays, the constructions are made in multi-storey sizes. Facade elevators are now used in all constructions in order to prevent labor, time and cost losses during the construction works while material is being transported between the floors while materials coming from outside are taken to the floors. Beyond the installation costs that have become increasingly economical, facade elevators increase operating performance and reduce construction costs thanks to the quick installation and practical use.

Depending on the construction features, steel and functional cabins are used in facade elevators which are produced in many different types and the desired height is reached from outside the building without using rope. Moreover, they are produced as high security against the risk of gear skipping or gear breakage in order not to endanger the lives of employees during their use. Many of them have brake systems that automatically activate in case of danger. The widths of the cabins are capable of carrying construction materials and elements of different lengths and weights.

In addition to these benefits, it is a legal obligation to carry out periodic checks of front elevators, which carry loads and personnel to fast-running and very high constructions, because they carry heavy loads and people as a result.

The Elevator Maintenance and Operation Regulation issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the conditions and the criteria for the use, maintenance and periodic checks of all elevators in terms of human health and property safety; standards.

In accordance with these legal regulations, regular inspections of the façade lifts must be carried out by authorized persons in the fields of machinery and electricity. If the standards are not shown for a further period, the elevators must be inspected at least once a year.

Our company performs the periodic controls and inspections of the elevators within the scope of periodic controls of lifting and transmitting machines, in compliance with the legal regulations in force. This A few standards considered during the studies are:

  • TS EN 81-3 + A1 Lifts - Safety regulations for construction and assembly - Part 3: Electrical and hydraulic service lifts
  • TS EN 13015 + A1 Maintenance of elevators and escalators - Rules for maintenance instructions
  • TS EN 60204-32 Safety in machinery - Electrical devices in machinery - Part 32: Requirements for hoisting machines
