Based on the Occupational Health and Safety Law published by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the same ministry issued the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment in 2013. This regulation specifies the minimum health and safety requirements for the use of work equipment in the workplace.
In the annex of the mentioned Regulation, Regarding Maintenance, Repair and Periodic Inspections (Annex 3), lifting and conveying equipment.
Accordingly, unless there is another criterion in the standards, hoisting and conveying machines must be able to lift and suspend at least the 1,25 floor of the declared load in an effective and safe manner. It should also have load brakes that are able to withstand this load.
Regular inspections of these machines should only be carried out by mechanical engineers, machine technicians or high technicians. If non-destructive testing methods are to be applied in the controls, the controls should be carried out by engineers, technicians or high technicians trained according to TS EN ISO 9712 standard (former TS EN 473 standard).
Regular inspection criteria and control times for some lifting and conveying machines are given in the table attached to the regulation.
