Bored Piles Periodic Control and Inspection

Our country is located in a serious earthquake zone and after the recent earthquakes, bored piles or other concrete piles in place have started to be used more frequently. In fact, with the increase of land use and underground construction, bored pile application became compulsory. Bored piles with diameters starting from 65 cm up to 150 cm are used in construction sites with low carrying capacity. In this way, the building load is carried on a solid ground. Bored piles are drilling piles and their application methods are directly related to the structure, condition of the construction floor and the diameter and depth of the pile.

The most important point in bored pile application is to create a project according to the ground conditions and needs and to implement the project as specified in the relevant standards. Different materials can be used according to ground and groundwater formations, pile length and equipment capacity during drilling process. It is also necessary to use basic quality control and measuring devices during drilling operations. There are special measuring devices suitable for bored pile application. Continuity and loading tests must be performed after the calculations made during the application.

Deep foundation applications are used to transfer the construction load to the ground and to solve the problems of bearing capacity. It is frequently used especially in buildings, dams, viaducts and bridges.

Impermeable curtain applications are carried out in order to prevent water from entering the construction foundation on the ground water level. It is used especially in dam constructions.

Slope stability applications are generally used for landslides and landslides.

The minimum requirements for the health and safety of work machines and equipment used in workplaces are included in the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment.

Our company controls and inspects bored piling machines, in accordance with the relevant regulations, standards published by domestic and foreign organizations. A few standards are based on:

  • TS EN 12794 + A1 Precast concrete products - Foundation piles
  • TS EN 16228-1 Drilling and basic equipment - Safety - Part 1: General rules
  • TS EN 14199 Special geotechnical applications - Mini piles
  • TS EN 1536 + A1 Special geotechnical applications drilling (forks)
