Load Testing of Lifting Apparatus

Lifting apparatuses are equipment which is not mounted on lifting and transmitting machines but allows the holding of the load, placed on the load or between the machine and the load. Lifting devices are considered as an integral part of the load and are presented to the market separately from the machine.

People have used vehicles of various types and capacities from the moment they first existed on earth to lift and transport loads that they could not lift or carry with their own forces. With the industrialization, lifting, transportation and masonry works are needed more and a wide range of machines and apparatuses have been developed. In this way, productivity on the one hand increased, while cost, time and labor were started to be saved.

Lifting and conveying machines generally carry loads in the air, which naturally increases the risk. The hazards associated with transporting loads at high altitudes are much higher than transporting them on the ground. Possible accidents not only cause damage to the transported load, but also damage the lifting and conveying machine itself and the surrounding area. This, in turn, leads to loss of labor, time and cost.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has prepared the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment in 2013 to eliminate these concerns. This regulation specifies the minimum health and safety requirements for the use of construction machinery, equipment and apparatus in various establishments.

Businesses must ensure that the lifting devices they use during their operations comply with the minimum requirements set out in the annexed regulation (minimum requirements to be found in Annex 1 Work equipment). In addition, as long as the lifting apparatus is used, the enterprises have to have adequate maintenance and take the necessary precautions. In addition, enterprises must ensure that the lifting devices are at the level of safety stated in the annex to the regulation (considerations regarding the use of additional 2 work equipment).

Our company scope of surveillance servicesperforms load tests of lifting apparatus in accordance with relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by local and foreign organizations.
