Building Insulation Investigation and Thermal Capacity Investigation

Energy is becoming the biggest problem in the world, where natural resources are increasingly consumed. Nearly 40 percent of the energy used in our country is used in industry, 30 percent is used in houses and around 21 percent in transportation. If the energy is no longer used more efficiently, the coming years do not look bright. Therefore, it is important not to compromise the level of welfare today, but to achieve this by using less energy.

At this point, it is aimed to reduce energy consumption in houses which have a large share in energy usage by using insulation works and efficient equipments. Necessary legal arrangements are made to ensure this. For example, the Energy Efficiency Law enacted in 2007 aims to use energy resources more effectively and efficiently in order to prevent the use of energy effectively, to prevent wasting, to reduce the burden of energy costs on the economy and to protect the environment. Based on this law, Energy Performance in Buildings Regulation was issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement in 2009. When this regulation was published, the following aims were taken into consideration by considering climatic conditions, indoor requirements, local and regional conditions and cost effectiveness:

  • To determine the calculation methods that will enable to evaluate all the energy needs of a building
  • Classification in terms of primary energy and carbon dioxide emissions
  • Identify the minimum energy performance requirements for existing buildings that require new and substantial repairs
  • Evaluate how feasible renewable energy sources are
  • To control heating and cooling systems
  • Limiting greenhouse gas emissions
  • To determine performance criteria and application principles in buildings
  • Finally ensuring the protection of the environment

In short, this regulation describes the criteria for energy use in existing buildings or new buildings.

One of the fields of activity of the organizations providing control and inspection services is to conduct insulation and thermal capacity inspections of the buildings. Our company also under the supervision services, examines the insulation and thermal capacities of buildings.

In these studies, the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with. In this regard, our company, the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), Accredited according to TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard.
