Pump Measurements

Pumps are used in many places in everyday life, but people are often unaware of this. For example, in an apartment building, water is released to high floors thanks to these pumps. Normally, the pumps need to run quietly. If there is still noise, it should be well understood whether this is normal or a problem. Some of this noise may be due to the connections of the pumping system, the combined piping or the liquids in the pipes. Therefore, noise in pumps is handled in different aspects such as hydraulic transmission, structural transmission and airway transmission.

Noise measurements have an important role in noise control. The purpose of these measurements is to find the source of the noise or to determine the noise level at a certain point. The frequency distribution of the noise is also determined. At most, the noise level at a desired location is determined. Pump noise measurements are performed to determine whether the noise generated by the pump complies with the standards or whether the noise level in an operation is within the desired limits. For this purpose, sound level measuring devices are used.

Our company, within the framework of electrical safety examinationsperforms pump measurements in accordance with the relevant regulations, standards and test methods published by local and foreign organizations. The standards considered in these studies include:

  • TS EN ISO 2151 Acoustics - Noise test code for compressors and vacuum pumps - Engineering method (Degree 2)
  • TS prEN 255-7 Heat pumps, driven by electric energy - Compressor-driven - Part7: Heat pumps and heat pumps used to prepare domestic hot water - Measurement of airborne noise - Determination of sound power level
  • TS EN 16644 Pumps - Rotodynamic pumps - Non-shaft recirculation pumps with rated power input not exceeding 200 Wat for heating installations and domestic hot water installations - Noise test code for measurement of structural and liquid noise (vibration acoustics)
  • TS EN ISO 20361 Liquid pumps and pump units - Noise test code - Accuracy class 2 and accuracy class 3
  • TS EN 12102 Air conditioners - Heat pumps and dehumidifiers air-driven noise-driven compressor driven by electrical energy - Determination of sound power level
