Electrical Motors Measurements

Electric motors are devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. In general, most of the electric motors have a rotary system. Electric motors have two basic components. One of them is fixed, the other is a rotating part. These main parts consist of electrical current conducting parts such as coils and magnetic current conducting parts such as bearings and construction parts.

Electric motors are widely used. The pump of a washing machine, the compressor of a refrigerator, the impeller of a kitchen extractor are always powered by the power of the electric motors. Electric motors are mainly used for repetitive, precise and speedy processes applied per second. In some electric motors, permanent magnets made of earth metals such as samarium cobalt magnets are used instead of conventional coils.

With the development of technology, microprocessors are used in most of the electric motors today and adjustments can be made according to needs.

There are many types of electric motors. Direct current motors, alternating field motors, synchronous or asynchronous motors. All of these engines have specific application areas. For example, the movements of DC motors are smooth, precise and powerful. Their speed can be easily adjusted, but they spark when working. Some electric motors are capable of stopping and operating frequently, are capable of precise speed settings and are capable of braking under load. Direct current motors are used where maximum efficiency is desired.

Our company, within the framework of electrical safety examinationsperforms measurements of electric motors in accordance with the relevant regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations. These standards are based on a few standards:

  • TS EN 62841-1 Electric motor-powered hand-held tools, portable tools and lawn and garden machines - Safety - Part 1: General rules
  • Safety regulations - For hand held electrical tools, hand-held tools, portable tools and lawn and gardening machines - Part 62841-2: Particular requirements for hand held electric screwdrivers and hammer switches
  • TS EN 62841-2-4 ... Part 2-4: Special rules for non-disc shaped hand-held abrasives and polishers
  • TS EN 62841-2-5 ... Part 2-5: Particular requirements for hand-held circular saws
  • TS EN 62841-2-9 ... Part 2-9: Particular requirements for hand-held threaders and threading apparatus
