Hot Water Boiler Periodic Control and Inspection

Hot water boilers mainly used in heating systems, steel boilers, standard boilers, cast iron boilers, low temperature boilers or condensing boilers, such as the material used in production, depending on the way of working or the general form is very diverse. There are even liquid-fueled boilers, gas-fired boilers and solid-fuel boilers looking at the energy sources used in heating.

Not only heating boilers but also all hot water boilers used for various purposes in the industry, the greatest danger is the formation of water vapor on the surface if these boilers operate at low temperatures. This causes the boilers to decay and perforate over time. Theoretically, the operating pressure of all hot water boilers is the pressure required for the operation of that boiler. Therefore, because they work under pressure, the weakness at any point in the boiler causes the boiler to explode. In addition, faulty and careless use of hot water boilers also pose a danger to life and property safety. These boilers must be used in accordance with the safety instructions and periodically maintained.

Annex 3 issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (Annex XNUMX) of the Regulation on the Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment (Annex XNUMX) stipulates that hydrostatic tests for hot water boilers are essentially carried out. These checks must be performed at least once a year by mechanical engineers, machine technicians or high technicians. In addition, these authorized persons must be registered in the electronic environment in the Ministry.

1,5 times of operating pressure are applied to the hot water boilers in the controls. However, if hydrostatic tests cannot be performed for various reasons, non-destructive testing methods specified in the standards are applied instead.

Our company conducts periodical inspections and inspections of hot water boilers within the scope of regular controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards published by domestic and foreign organizations. These standards are based on a few standards:

  • TS 497 Boilers - Steel (welded)
  • TS 377-12 EN 12953-12 Cylindrical boilers - Part 12: Specification for grate combustion systems of solid fuel-fired boilers
  • EN 12953-1 Cylindrical boilers - Part 1: General
