Regardless of the purpose of the gases used in industry, the tanks in which they are stored have their own manufacturing methods and standards. These gases can be stored in atmospheric containers as well as in pressure vessels.

The gases are generally stored in gasometers with the ceiling section movable. The gasometers are in the form of another cylinder moving up and down in one cylinder. As gas is filled into the tank, the upper cylinder moves upwards and the volume in the gasometer expands. The two cylinders move without rubbing against each other. The balance and weight of the movable upper roller are very important. If the moving top roller does not move for some reason, pressure builds up in the tank. Or, if the upper cylinder does not come down while the gas is being taken out, reverse pressure is created. Both cases are important and dangerous for gas tanks. The gases are stored by this method at an amount above atmospheric pressure and under a constant pressure.

Gases can be stored under pressure in large tanks, small containers or pipelines. The pressure also reduces the volume of gases.

Since the beginning of industrialization movements, pressure vessels have always been the focus of attention and many detailed standards have been developed. At the same time, a number of criteria and rules have been introduced with legal regulations.

Industrial gases are dangerous because storage tanks are used under pressure, and in practice the checks and inspections of these tanks must be carried out when the tanks are completed, or before they are installed in place, or immediately after any changes or repairs have been made to the tanks. If the tanks are to be re-used after being kept empty for three months, these checks are also required. However, in accordance with the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, enterprises are obliged to have at least one inspection and inspection per year.
