Ambient Dust Measurement

In general, solid organic or inorganic particles emitted into the environment are called powders. Breathable dust, on the other hand, is any kind of particles that are suspended in the air and taken into the body while breathing. Dust, dirt and chemical substances that come off the surface during production activities in working environments form small solid or liquid particles that can remain in the air for a long time. If these particles are exposed for a long time and in high amounts, they will react in the body and be transported to the extreme end of the lungs. This situation causes hazards to the health of the employees. For this, the permissible limit values in the workplaces should not be exceeded.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued the Anti-Dust Regulation in 2013. The purpose of this regulation is to prevent the risks caused by dust in the workplaces, to fight against dust in terms of employee health and safety and to protect employees from the effects of dust. According to this regulation, employers are obliged to take all necessary precautions to prevent dust exposure and protect workers from dust-related hazards in workplaces where dust is produced.

Employers must use non-hazardous or less hazardous substances in terms of health and safety of workers, avoid risks at source, apply collective protection methods for this, prevent dust output, provide adequate fresh air, necessary personal protective equipment. must use. In addition, employers are obliged to ensure the effectiveness and continuity of the measures taken and have control, supervision and supervision done for this purpose.

In addition, employers are obliged to conduct risk assessments in the work environment within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment Regulation. In this study, the type of dust in the environment, health and safety hazards and hazards of dust, duration, amount and frequency of dust exposure, determined exposure limit values, dust measurement results, necessary precautions and previous surveillance results are taken into consideration.

Our company also performs ambient dust measurements within the scope of gas measurements. In these studies the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with.
