Pressure Vessels Periodic Controls

Steam Boiler Periodic Inspection and Inspection
It is not a wrong analogy to see steam boilers used for various purposes in businesses as bombs ready to explode. Unexpected explosions cause great damage and pose a great threat to both human health and property safety. On the other hand, the energy used to operate the steam boilers strains the natural resources of our country. Coal, natural gas, oil, hydraulic and other energy resources in our country meet only a certain part of our needs. A significant part of the consumed energy is imported. In short, our country is outsourced in terms of energy consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to use energy correctly and not be consumed unnecessarily. Today, an average of 30 percent of the energy consumed is used for heating buildings. The remaining part is used in factories, enterprises and production facilities. In many areas of the industry, steam boilers are in a not to be underestimated. Therefore, it is very important to operate the steam boilers correctly, economically and reliably. Employees using steam boilers should be knowledgeable and experienced in the structure, function, working principles, working temperatures and working pressure of the boilers. In addition, when steam boilers fail, they must be capable of responding to and correcting this fault quickly, and be able to use measurement, adjustment, control and safety tools easily. In short, it should be able to perform certain controls and inspections. Apart from this, the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment has brought the obligation to control and inspect steam boilers at least once a year by mechanical engineers, machine technicians and high technicians. Apart from this regulation, there are other legal regulations such as pressure equipment regulation, portable pressure equipment regulation and simple pressure vessels regulation for the operation and safety of steam boilers. Our company performs periodic controls and inspections of steam boilers within the scope of regular controls of pressure vessels, in accordance with relevant legal regulations and standards published by domestic and foreign organizations. A few standards taken into account in these studies are: • TS 2025 Steam boilers operation - Inspection and maintenance general rules • TS EN 13445-1/A1 Pressure vessels - Non-fire contact - Part 1: General • TS EN 13445-4 Pressure vessels - Fire contact non-flammable - Part 4: Manufacturing • TS EN 13445-5 Pressure vessels - Non-flammable - Part 5: Inspection and testing

Industrial Gas Tanker Periodic Inspection and Inspection

Industrial gas tanks are mainly three types: land tanker tanks, liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks and industrial gas storage tanks. All of these must be inspected when the tanks are manufactured, or after they are installed, but before commissioning, after a modification or repair of the tanks, or if they are to be reused for up to three months.

All tanks of any kind are in fact subject to the provisions of the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in 2013. Within the framework of the mentioned regulation, all these tanks are included in the pressure vessel and installations group. Because all of them have risks that threaten human health and property security.

As in the periodic controls of all pressure vessels and installations, regular inspections and inspections of industrial gas tanker tanks are described in the related standards provided that the criteria in the regulation of pressure equipment, the regulation of portable pressure equipment and the regulation of simple pressure vessels do not contradict the provisions of the aforementioned regulation. criteria. This work must be done by mechanical engineers, machine technicians or high technicians. If these studies are to be carried out by non-destructive testing methods, then these studies should only be carried out by authorized persons who have been trained according to TS EN ISO 9712 Nondestructive testing - NDT personnel qualification and certification - General specifications standard.

Industrial gas tanker tanks should in principle be subjected to hydrostatic testing. These tests must be carried out with 1,5 times the operating pressure and for periods not exceeding one year, unless otherwise stipulated in the standards. However, if hydrostatic testing cannot be carried out due to operating conditions or due to the characteristics of the tanks, non-destructive testing methods may be applied.

Our company conducts regular inspections and inspections of industrial gas tanker tanks within the framework of periodic controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations. These standards are included in the tables attached to the regulation. However, after the publication of the regulation, new standards regarding the issue issued must also be taken into consideration.

Periodic Inspection and Inspection of Gas Cylinders

Maintenance of gas cylinders is based on TS EN 1968 standard. This standard covers the requirements for regular inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of welded or seamless steel tubes manufactured to TS EN 13322-1, 2 and TS EN ISO 9809-1, 2, 3 standards. The service life of gas cylinders varies according to the type of gases filled into them. In order to re-use the tubes after these expiration periods, they must be checked and inspected according to TS EN 1968 standard. It is a legal obligation to have these controls and inspections carried out in terms of the safety of life and property of the users on the one hand and the businesses performing the filling works on the other.

According to the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, gas cylinders are included in the pressure vessels and installations group and their controls are required at least once a year. In addition, control and inspection operations should be performed by mechanical engineers, machine technicians and high technicians.

Our company conducts regular inspections and inspections of gas cylinders within the framework of periodic controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations. These standards are included in the tables attached to the regulation. However, after the publication of the regulation, new standards regarding the issue issued must also be taken into consideration. Here are a few standards that are based on the controls for today:

  • TS EN 1968 Portable gas cylinders - Seamless - Periodic inspection and testing for steel gas cylinders
  • TS EN 13322-1 Portable gas cylinders - Refillable welded steel gas cylinders - Design and manufacture - Part 1: Carbon steels
  • TS EN 13322-2 ... Section 2: Stainless steels
  • TS EN ISO 9809-1 Gas cylinders - Refillable seamless steel gas cylinders - Design, construction and testing - Part 1: Tensile strength and tempered steel tubes smaller than 1100 mpa
  • TS EN ISO 9809-2 ... Section 2: Tensile and tempered steel tubes with tensile strength equal to or greater than 1100 mpa
  • TS EN ISO 9809-3 ... Section 3: Normalized steel tubes

Vacuum Tank Periodic Inspection and Inspection

Vacuum means a space in which there is no substance, no atom or molecule. It is generally used to identify areas in which the air pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure around it, or where the pressure is reduced. In practice, it is not possible to obtain a completely emptied cavity, ie, vacuum, under laboratory conditions. Vacuum is widely used in technology, especially in space technologies.

Vacuum and cooling tanks are used in PVC, PE and PP pipelines designed for high capacity and high efficiency. PVC, polyvinyl chloride, PE polyethylene, PP is polypropylene. These are synthetic plastic polymers.

Vacuum is defined as the closed volume filled by gases whose pressure is below atmospheric pressure. In industry, the word vacuum refers to environments in which the plan gases form pressures below atmospheric pressure. Vacuum is also defined as the absorption or condensation of molecules that generate the gas or pressure in question by pumps.

Briefly, reducing the air pressure below atmospheric pressure is called vacuum. Since the pressure in the vacuum forming area decreases below the pressure value of the air, the air in the open area flows into the area where the vacuum is formed. If an object approaches the duct where the air flow is, the object is absorbed by the effect of vacuum.

Artificial vacuum can be created by reducing the gas density where gas molecules are present. The spontaneous gas-free environment in space is the natural vacuum.

In technology, vacuum and pressure units are expressed in the same units. Torr or Pascal is used as a unit in vacuum studies. The lowest vacuum obtained in the laboratory is the 10-15 atmosphere, and 30 billion atoms per cubic meter volume. In space there is an atom per cubic meter.

According to the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, vacuum tanks are included in the pressure vessels and installations group with the reverse pressure feature. For this reason, inspection and inspection operations should be carried out once a year by mechanical engineers, machine technicians and high technicians.

Our company conducts regular checks and inspections of vacuum tanks within the framework of periodic controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations.

Pipeline Periodic Inspection and Inspection

The pipelines are constructed to transport liquids and gases over long distances in economic and safe conditions. In general, pipelines transport crude oil, processed petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel or jet fuel, natural gas, carbon dioxide, concentrated solids in liquid and purified water.

The first pipeline transportation was established in the second half of the 1800 to transport oil from major oil fields in the United States. These first pipelines were made of wood. However, as oil exploration and refining technologies developed, the first steel pipes began to be used at the end of 1800s. Today, pipelines are mostly used for natural gas transportation. The thickness of the pipelines used today is very thin, but the strength is very high. The diameter of the pipes reaches 60 inches and is capable of carrying over long distances. In general, welded pipes are used in long pipelines. Strength, abrasion, high temperature or low temperature, dynamic loads and weldability are important factors in material selection.

Hydrostatic tests are the most difficult stage when constructing pipelines. The required pressure is obtained by filling a certain part of the line with water and the pipe is held at this pressure for a certain time. The length of the portions to be tested is determined by conditions, but it is preferred to keep it short to obtain the required pressure.

All these explanations show that pipelines are systems operating under high pressure and if they are not regularly checked, they create a risk for life and property safety.

These tanks are included in the pressure vessels and installations group in accordance with the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Therefore, they should be checked and examined at least once a year. According to the regulation, the tests should be performed by hydrostatic methods, but if the hydrostatic tests cannot be performed due to the compulsory conditions or the characteristics of the work equipment, then the non-destructive testing methods described in the standards are applied.

Our company performs regular inspections and inspections of pipelines within the scope of periodic controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations.
